    FAQs

Selling server CPUs - common questions

VDR does. We buy Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC processors from UK businesses, from single units to bulk lots, with free insured collection and payment by bank transfer once they have been tested.

The exact model number matters most, for example Xeon Gold 6226R, plus the quantity and condition. A photo of the markings on the processor helps if you are unsure.

Yes. Older generations such as Xeon E5 v3 and v4 still have a market for spares and for organisations running established servers. The price is lower, but they are worth asking about.

Tell us about the damage when you ask for a valuation, and we will price accordingly. Pins are usually in the server socket on modern Xeon and EPYC systems, so a damaged socket does not always mean a damaged processor.

Some AMD EPYC processors become locked to a server manufacturer's platform, which limits who can reuse them. Telling us the server model helps us give you an accurate price.

Either works. Do not break servers down just for us: complete systems are often easier to verify, and we can value the whole machine. See our server buy-back.

It depends on the model, generation, condition, quantity and current demand. Send your model numbers for a free valuation, normally within minutes.

    No questions match your search.
