    Data destruction - common questions

    It is your written proof that data-bearing devices were destroyed. Because every drive and tape we handle is tracked by serial number, the certificate and asset report show exactly which devices were processed and how. That helps you demonstrate compliance with UK GDPR and your own security policies.

    Erasure to recognised standards makes the data unrecoverable and lets the drive be reused, which is why it suits equipment you want to sell. Shredding is the choice when your policy requires physical destruction, or when a drive has failed and cannot be wiped. We offer both.

    Not reliably. Drilling or smashing damages part of a drive, but data on the undamaged areas can still be recovered by a specialist. Certified erasure, degaussing or industrial shredding gives you a result you can document.

    Yes. For larger estates we can carry out data destruction on site, so no drive leaves your building intact. Smaller jobs are collected in insured, tracked transport with full chain of custody.

    It depends on the number of devices and the method. When we buy your equipment, secure data destruction is part of our standard process. For destruction-only jobs, tell us the quantities and we will quote before anything is collected.
