    Selling hard drives and SSDs - common questions

    VDR does. We buy SAS, SATA and NVMe drives from UK businesses, with free insured collection, certified data destruction and payment by bank transfer once the drives have been checked.

    Every drive is wiped to government and industry standards, degaussed or physically shredded, with certificates of destruction for your records. For larger estates we can destroy data on site. See our secure data destruction service.

    Only drives that are wiped can be resold, so a shredded drive has no resale value. If your policy requires physical destruction, tell us when you ask for a valuation and we will price it accurately.

    We are set up for business and enterprise drives, usually in batches. Send your list and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

    Include them if you can. Drives from HPE, Dell and other server makers can be worth more in their original caddies.
